Very accurate. This meter comes in handy to measure any light source. From the new energy saving light bulbs to how strong the light is to charge a solar battery watch.

It is self adjusting which saves time and guess work. Worth the money.

This is a nice light meter, but for what I do, it's time consuming. I just don't have the time to convert the meter reading to F-stops. For everything else, it's good little meter for the price. However, I did send it back for the fact that 50 bucks for something that is not going to be used was a waste of money.

Does exactly what I needed it to do, and has some useful features. I am using it as a poor man's light meter for DSLR videography. I don't need it to tell me the proper exposure values to use, as my camera and a nice gray screen does that for me. Rather, I use it to measure light ratios (key-to-fill ratio, etc.) and to determine if the light has changed significantly-enough since the last shot to warrant a re-assessment of exposure settings. As a very basic reading of light levels, it seems to work great.

It does have an annoying beep by default, but that can be turned-off easily with a momentary press of the power button. It can self-calibrate to dark levels with a calibration setting that's accomplished when the sensor cover is in place. It can also measure min and max readings easily, with the press of a button.

In short, it should be a handy tool for a great price, and will be a welcome addition to my kit.

4 stars only because it feels a little cheap and "plasticy" and seems a bit larger than it probably needs to be. But I suspect some of that is related to usability, and some to sensor size requirements for adequate light gathering while keeping the costs low. Probably wouldn't survive too many drop onto hard surfaces, but then I take good care of equipment and don't see that as a problem for me.

I haven't used this a lot, but so far it seems very accurate and well made. I am using it to judge ambient lighting for Theater Rooms and Projection Systems. I need to make sure that screen choice and projector brightness are right and this really helps.
