She was very interested so I did some research on books and came upon this one. I read the book and thought it was excellent for a child and when she read it, she loved it. My 9th great grandfather was on the Mayflower, and the info in the book is pretty good on historical accuracy without all the political retelling that sometimes is associated with this story but isn't really how the people thought about it when it happened. Maybe it was the declarative sentences that made it seem matter of fact instead of grandiose...
