Organizing For Over 70yrs

Tip #1: Have a goal for getting organized and get your kid(s) involved. Label things and store strategically.

Tip #2: Use a simple sorting system. Designate a certain place for toys and set rules around putting them back. When clear, easily understandable boundaries are put in place, the more likely your child will habitually follow.

Tip #3: Purge! Donating toys to a local charity is a great way to get rid of excess and teaches the life lessons of sharing and caring.

missing bolt, no hardware to secure to wall, works but design isn't the best

missing bolt, no hardware to secure to wall, works but design isn't the best
We got this last night to store some of our daughters (1 year) toys. Mostly legos and blocks and various "cooking accessories". Upon putting it together I noticed they were one bolt short (trust me it wasn't there to begin with), but I was able to make it okay by tightening the others down and putting it in the back. However, it is smaller than I expected, although I probably could have looked at the dimensions closer before ordering, and thus I'm not faulting the company there. However, the design of the angled tupperware bins isn't great because at least 1/3 of the bins are "covered" partially by the bin above it. Thus it makes it difficult to store much in them. Additionally, I was disapointed it did NOT include a bracket to secure it to the wall, and thus is a safety risk because a child would surely pull this over the first time attempting to stand up. I will have to purchase the missing bolt at local hardware store as well as devise a way to secure to the wall.

My daughter had a lot of toys that didn't really have a place to be "put away". Our house is incredibly small and suffers from toy overflow into our livingroom. Rather than trying to supress the toys to her room, which recently had to give up floor space to a new baby's crib, I decided to embrace the toy overflow and find a nice looking storage solution that I would be ok with looking at in our livingroom. This did just the trick. Now the toys have their own spot, they are sorted, and we will now be able to tell if they are still being played with because we can actually see them now! This was very simple to put together, I did it myself and only needed a screwdriver to tighten up the screws once it was all assembled. I was worried about the sturdiness because I knew my daughter would be constantly pulling toys out and shoving them back into the bins, but sturdiness has not been an issue. We basically have every bin filled to its fullest and to maximize storage, we have even put over the door hooks on each end to hang toys, so I feel that it is sturdy and well made. The bins are made of pretty heavy-duty plastic. I love this because it does not take up much space and really makes pick up time a breeze. This certainly took care of our homeless toys that before often ended up on her bedroom floor and has really made my livingroom look like a livingroom again!

The package was a bit scuffed and damaged when it arrived so we were expecting the worst. No harm to the panels inside! The pieces were intact. It is fast and easy to assemble. We were done within 30 minutes. The rods are metal, which is nice since wooden rods can splinter. The bins are colorful and the overall shelving is decent height for kids to access. The only thing I would comment is that we wish the bins were of slightly better quality plastic--these feel like the base might splinter if heavier toys (such as Melissa and Doug wooden cubes etc) are dropped in with "extra" enthusiasm by the kids. Still, its nice for the price.
Oh-and we have wooden floors so it is quite stable once completely assembled.

As a storage organizer, it works fine. The rack is very attractive, with several sizes of colored bins that work well to hold small toys. Assembly was very easy with just having to put the rods between the two ends and screw them in. However, there is no strap or bracket to hold it to the wall. It is just a matter of time before a child pulls this over. We had a similar product from another company that indeed fall over on my son. I ended up having to install the brackets (which it came with) to the wall. This one has nothing to attach it and prevent it from tipping over. I wrote the company about this and they ignored me, so apparently their support isn't very good either.

- I purchased this product because our friends had purchased one for their son and we liked it. When I received the package and unpacked it I noticed that there was a small crack in the large green bin. However because of the location of the crack, my son could have had his skin pinched had he grabbed the bin just right. On the instructions that came with the product it said to contact the company directly instead of the 'store' it was purchased from. The customer service rep that helped me was very courteous and professional and put orders to send me a replacement bin immediately. It took a couple weeks to receive because of some extreme weather effecting mail carriers. I appreciate that they didn't make me send the defective bin back, which saved me some unnecessary work and time.
- It was very easy to put together and works fine. It's not heavy, and could be tipped over if my son pulled on it hard enough, so we have to make sure he doesn't try to climb on it. Once he's a little older, its design will make it easy for him to see and pick out which toys he wants to play with and then put them away.
- Overall, I'm pleased with this product. I feel like it was a little over priced at $54.97, but the company's customer service made up for the difference.

I have 3 year old twins and their trains and cars were getting out of hand in the living room. I bought this bin to try and clean up some of the clutter (and because I was growing weary of them dumping out the small storage container I had so that they could find one tiny train in the mix). I ordered it on a Monday, got it on a Tuesday, and in 15 minutes, had it in the living room. Putting it together was a breeze and, suprisingly enough, once it was together, it seemed very stable for what it is. (The sides are MDF, so clearly it is not meant to be climbed on, but with my monkeys pulling on it and playing with it, they've yet to tip it).

It not only has organized all their living room toys, but it also has encouraged them to put their own toys away, which in and of itself makes it worthy of 5 stars!

The bins are a hard plastic and they would be excellent for storage even if the unit eventually falls apart,so that's an added bonus.

I thought when we put this thing together that it was very cute and held quite a bit of my 19 month old's toys. The only issue is there is no way to bolt it to the wall. The first week we had it my daughter was sitting in front of it and trying to pull the containers out as toddlers are known to do. The bars that hold the containers are just the right size for toddlers to grip onto with their hands. My daughter grabbed onto one of the bars and pulled and the ENTIRE unit tumbled over and fell on top of her. Screaming and crying ensued, luckily no busted lip or cuts. Just a large bruise on her forehead.

They need to recall this item immediately. It is NOT safe for toddlers.

I love the idea of this item, as I already have one in my son's room. I thought having one in my Daughters room would help her learn to organize her toys. The problem that I have with it is that four of the dowels are one length and the other four are a different length...makes it impossible to put it together without cutting the longer dowels with a skill saw. My daughter's birthday was on Valentines day and this was a gift. The frame is half constructed and sitting in the corner waiting for modifications. Disappointing!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for what it is but wish it wasn't pressboard
Reviewed in Canada on May 19, 2014
I detest pressboard but couldn't find a unit in this style made with solid wood so ordered this based on the reviews. It smells as lovely as pressboard pieces tend to smell, but the parts seem fairly sturdy and everything fit together like it should without having to re-drill any holes or cover any blemishes in the finish, unlike similar pieces I've bought in the past.

It works well as a low-cost fix for the toy storage issue and I do like the fact that the design makes it easy for my children to help with putting away their toys. I wish they had a deeper, taller version since this one doesn't offer as much storage as I need (we now have three children, and a gift-buying set of grandparents living 5 minutes away, so it's adding up).

Works great! The only thing that would be nice is to have something to fasten it to the wall with for safety (anti-tip strap).
