This product is excellent. I have a skin excision site that has not been healing well due to irritation with contact with clothing on my upper back and this product offers good protection, barrier for healing site clothing rubbing on it. I cut the product to fit the site and change it daily but some can keep on longer. It stays on perfectly while at work. I have tried other products but this is the only one I can tolerate that does not irritate surrounding skin tissue.

We use Duoderm as the base layer in the adhesives to keep a child’s Nasogastric tube stuck on their cheek. Duoderm provides a good cushion base for the other adhesives to stack on.

These 4x4s are a good size to cut down for a face, and if you only leave it on for ~5 days the pressure sores aren’t awful. They will clear up within a week or two, especially if you use 3M Cavilon first to protect the skin before putting the Duoderm on.

The price is a little expensive, but this can be very hard to find elsewhere if your medical supply company won’t send you enough or you want to have some spares on hand (you should).

As an RN, we used duoderm for patients' pressure ulcers back in the day. They were the thick kind, not thin like these, though they still sell the originals.

Duoderm thin promotes healing through a hydrocolloidal dressing by keeping the wound moist. I tend to heal slowly, and these really will speed up healing, but you have to be patient and leave them on until they start to curl at the edges or fall off. You may then need to reapply one, but if you are patient and do not remove them, you will eventually have a wound that is sealed over and just slightly reddened.

I highly recommend duoderm thin and always keep them in my wound dressing supplies.

They used to be much more expensive than they are now so this is very economical.

I want to address a couple things bc I’ve used bandages like this from other brands before so I feel like I can give a good assessment.
1. Thin....debatable. But the definition of thin can vary from person to person...but IMO...I wouldn’t call it “thin” but surely thinner than standard.
2. It’s uncomfortable at times to wear especially in the heat. This is the nature of having this type of bandage. Just something to be aware of.
3. I didn’t find these to be sticky enough. Even upon application. The instructions ask that you tape down the edges. I’ve had similar bandages where that was not
required or a part of the instructions.
4. Lifting is an issue but this is partly
Bc I didn’t follow instructions to tape the edge. It’s principle, ok? Tape isn’t going to
Last that long anyway, retaping over and over to avoid lifting is ridiculous. The lifting causes it to collect color from fabrics, dirt, etc. it will stay on though, I’ll give it that.
5. The instructions say “keep dry”. Guess showers are optional when using this product. That said I’ve worn these in the shower, they hang on but this could be contributing to the lifting as well.
6. You can cut these and apply it in smaller pieces. That’s a win!
7. They are almost transparent but more like a skin color. It’s hardly noticeable. It has a texture to it that also lets it hide better. Love this. Best brand I’ve used so far when it comes to this.
8. They’re tough, I might be a misuser/abuser but the product has held up minus some minor lifting.
9. Also the price is right for these types of bandages.

Verdict: good product, could be improved but worth the money if you follow instructions. If you can’t, I’d probably suggest something else.
