I very seldom write reviews but I felt compelled to write this one! I bought this case because I needed it for my new kindle fire hd, it was a pretty color (purple) and most importantly, it was very inexpensive.It is pretty unremarkable in design and is made of fairly low-end materials. However, the other day I accidentally left my kindle (in the case) on top of my car and off I drove. The kindle was able to hang on for two whole miles before flying off on a busy road.I realized a few minutes later that I had left it on the car, back-tracked and couldn't find it.Long story short, a good samaritan witnessed it falling off my car into the center of the road and stopped and picked it up for me and returned it! The case has a small ding on one corner but the kindle was totally protected and works perfectly. If I could give 10m stars I would!

This case fits the Kindle Fire HD 7 perfectly and the price was unbelievable. the opening in the back provides access to the charging connection, so you can charge the unit with the cover closed. I like purple so am happy with the color. I only gave it 4 stars because there only seems to be one magnet at the top and none at the bottom. It stays closed (so far) but not as securely as I would like. I have another cover that has 2 magnets on the flap. I recall someone else mentioned that glitch. Otherwise I'm happy with my purchase.

I've had my Case Crown case for a few months now and I want to upgrade my rating to 5 stars. The single magnet on the flap has not been a problem. The cover stays closed. The case is very attractive and protects my Kindle Fire HD 7 nicely. I highly recommend this case.

This is nice product, but I purposefully rated it lowest rate, so people will read my review and not loose money like I did.

The trouble is the configuration tool. When you configure any accessory for your existing device, what you do is: choose your device (in my case it was Kindle Fire HD 7inch), then choose other properties of the accessory. In this case it was: color. And I really went through a few colors, from my original choice of color: blue to white, red, (...), and back to my original blue.

When this is done, you just place the order. WRONG! You really have to double check what you are ordering! Because... Guess what: some color (while) was not available for my device. So, when I chose white instead of stopping right there and telling me that white is not available for _MY_ device, the configuration tool just showed me this body case for incompatible device (Kindle fire tablet), and from this point on it stays with this incompatible device when you further change color.

So: I consider this a major fault of the configuration tool. Hence the [very bad] rating. None of accessory configuration tools I used during past 10 years ever did something like that.

I did return my case and got refunded for that (Thanks, the seller!) - minus shipping both ways. As being honest person, I couldn't say wrong item was sent to me - I received what my order reads. And I did order the compatible one - from the same seller!

I hope, this helps others, as the configuration tool is a crap and is pushing to sell you what you don't need (it does this under some circumstances I mean ;-)

I just got this cover for my Kindle Fire HD today and already I don't care for it and have ordered something else. It does fit just fine but some of my apps like Words With Friends only turn in one particular direction and because of the little emblem it makes the cover upside down or backwards. I would live with that if it wasn't for the fact that it stinks so bad (strong chemical odor) so it's definitely going to be given to someone who doesn't mind the smell and just got a Kindle Fire for Christmas (my son). The vendor was fine and I don't blame them so that's why I opted not to return it, but I really don't like it. If you want a nice case, try the Supcase. My Mom has that and it smells almost like leather and no emblem on the front so direction isn't an issue.

2/1/13: Just an update that the stinky smell of the cover is beginning to fade - not nearly so bad. I'm still giving this 3 stars becase of the placement of the emblem, making you have to hold it upside down and backwards for some apps, but in all honesty it's not that bad, unless you might be really odor sensitive. I have still bought another cover without the little emblem that was even less expensive than this one. So maybe if they lowered the price a bit and you could get past the first week of the stinky smell, it is a nice color and feels pretty good and has all of the right slots in the right places for the Kindle Fire HD. I would still recommend, however, that you get one with a darker color on the inside because this light gray may get dirty with all of the handling it gets while I'm reading or playing games.

In fact I find the buttons easier to locate now since I don't have to keep figuring out which side they are on as they are so flush on the device. The price is absolutely amazing.
